The PANTONE Color of the Year for 2017
Adding color to a home can be daunting—with so many options out there, you might find it hard to narrow down the choices. However, sometimes it’s as easy as looking to the PANTONE Color of the Year. For ideas on how to add this or any other color to your home, speak with a trained specialist at Blinds & Designs serving San Francisco. We’ll be happy to share our tips.
Green—the Natural Look
According to the PANTONE Color Institute, which calls itself the “global color authority,” 2017 will be all about going green because this year’s PANTONE Color of the Year is Greenery, 15-0343. Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the PANTONE Color Institute, notes that Greenery “is the color of hopefulness and of our connection to nature. It speaks to what we call the ‘re’ words: regenerate, refresh, revitalize, renew.” From the new leaf green Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster to the flourishing foliage colors used by Gucci and Prada, this color is everywhere.
How to Bring Greenery to Your Home
You can incorporate this new color trend into your home environment in a number of ways. Paint, wallpaper, throw pillows, and other décor can all reflect (a little or a lot) the natural green that is this year’s color. Another way to bring a hint of Greenery to your home is with new custom drapery or valances or through fashion-forward Hunter Douglas window treatments. With Hunter Douglas blinds and shades, you can select from a number of nature-inspired options that are reminiscent of the Greenery shade. For example:
- Vignette® Modern Roman Shades with Heather fabric in color FZ10-337, Clover Field
- Design Studio™ Roman Shades with Countryside fabric in color DSRCY724, Parsley
- Duette® Architella® Honeycomb Shade with fabric in color C43-696, Oregano
- Silhouette® Window Shading with Matisse® Quartette® fabric in color A25-508, Painter’s Passion
- Cadence® Soft Vertical Blinds with Camille fabric in color 7716147, Thyme
The Benefits of Adding Color to a Room
Remember, there’s nothing more satisfying than coming home to a comfortable space, and a hint—or a splash or more!—of color can do the trick. With so many fabrics, textures, and paints to choose from, you can go ahead and bring the soothing color of nature right in to your home.
