Benefits of the Pirouette Shade
Some of you might be familiar with the limitations of the Roman shade:
- It offers only two levels of light control
- It stacks thickly when it’s recessed
- It can cover only square or rectangular windows
- It is neither dust- nor soil-resistant
- The Hunter Douglas Pirouette shade is a good alternative to the Roman Shade because it offers multiple options for window light control, installation, and much more!
Harsh sunlight coming in through an uncovered window on an especially sunny day is damaging to your wood and furniture. Unfiltered UV rays beaming in will inevitably fade any wood, wood stains, and cloth in the room. You don’t want to close the blinds completely because you don’t want to obstruct your gorgeous view and have the room be in a greying darkness. Why not slap a fabric shade on your window that can close the blinds when you need them closed, open them when you need them opened, and give you a third option to diffuse the harsh sunlight coming in? This is what the Pirouette shade is all about, that third option to diffuse the light through the window when you don’t want the blind completely closed or opened. Diffused light through your windows is good for photography. It makes for optimum lighting for a room because the light is more uniformly spread out to give a softer and warm appeal to the room.
The Pirouette Shade’s Special Sauce
What makes the Pirouette shade special? Two words: Floating vanes. Pirouette vanes are attached to the sheer fabric backing of the window covering. Making a teardrop shape like that of a hobble-style traditional roman shade, the Pirouette vanes protrude out and can be further controlled to flatten or fold with your choice of either a 4″ or 5″ vane.
Specialty Shaped Windows
Unlike Roman shades that are limited to being installed on only square or rectangular windows, Pirouette Shades can be installed on arches, angles, trapezoids, ovals, circles, bays, bows, sliding glass doors, and French doors. With six fabrics to choose from and 63 colors swatches, you are sure to find the perfect look for the window. The Pirouette Shade also comes in a line called Alustra®; it is available in two higher-end fabrics called Charmeuse and Valencia that are both inspired by the look of raw silk. The Alustra line also comes in 5” vane sizes only.
Other Benefits of the Pirouette Shade
Operating Systems. Not only are Pirouette shades flexible when it comes to the types of windows they can be installed on, but they come in a variety of operating systems such as EasyRise™, UltraGlide®, or PowerView® Motorization.
Cleaning. Pirouettes are certified to repel dust, soil, and stains. Plus, they are GREENGUARD certified. So you know that your product will stay clean and good-looking for a long time to come.
