Modified MechoShade in Portola Valley

Take a look at this ultra custom installation of a MechoShade for a beautiful estate in Portola Valley. Manual shades are typically not made over 120″ long, but it had to be done here as there was only a 3″ pocket in the frame. Shades this wide are typically are motorized and need about a 6 x6 space, so we needed some innovative thinking the make this project work.

Through some special fabrication, we came up with something to block the afternoon sun and double as a movie screen in the evening. The shade is held in place by special marine magnets.
