Save With Tax Credits on Hunter Douglas Shades
It’s always a great experience to get a quality product at a good value. It’s even better to get extra savings. At Blinds & Designs serving Marin County, we’re happy to point our customers to the new tax credits they can earn by making a purchase they might have already been planning. Read on to learn more, and speak with one of our specialists for full details.
How to Earn Tax Credits
In many homes, one of the biggest sources of energy loss is windows, which can let outside air in and inside air out as well as add unwelcome heat through direct sunlight. That’s why the U.S. government is rewarding certain energy-efficient window covering purchases—to help homeowners insulate at their windows and reduce energy usage. All you have to do is make a qualifying purchase before December 31, 2023, and you could earn up to 30% return on the purchase price in the form of federal tax credits (max of $1,200). Be sure to keep your sales receipt, print out the Hunter Douglas certification, and give them to your tax advisor at tax time next year.
Eligible Purchases
The tax credits apply to only eligible purchases, which include select Hunter Douglas Duette® Architella® and Applause® Honeycomb Shades in select sizes. (Note that adding some special features might void the product’s eligibility.) This line of shades offers a simple, sleek look for modern spaces, and it can also work well in traditional settings.
- The Duette® Architella® honeycomb shade is made with a cell-within-a-cell construction, which helps reduce unwanted solar heat up to 80% in the summer and can cut heat loss at the window up to 40% in the winter. The Duette shade offers privacy, insulation, and light control.
- The Applause honeycomb shade is made with a double cell, so you’ll get increased insulation versus the regular single-cell build. Because of this construction, the shade offers energy savings at an affordable price with the quality of the Hunter Douglas brand. Applause can be customized for windows of specialty shapes, including arches, angles, ovals, skylights, and more.
