Window Treatment Coordination

By David Farella

Luminette® Privacy Sheers with Vignette® Modern

In many homes, some rooms have both a regular window that would use a horizontal treatment and a larger one that would need a vertical treatment. At Blinds & Designs here in San Francisco, many of our customers have asked us about how they can treat both windows while still maintaining a consistency of look. As it happens, Hunter Douglas offers a selection that makes it easy to treat both styles. Speak with one of our representatives today!

Coordinating Horizontal and Vertical Products

It is already sometimes a challenge to coordinate colors, fabrics, furniture, flooring, and everything else. When it comes to selecting window treatments for a room that requires both vertical and horizontal blind, it can be downright confusing. However, Hunter Douglas offers an easy and convenient way to make those choices, with The Whole House Solution™, a program that coordinates a number of Hunter Douglas horizontal window treatments with their vertical counterparts. It helps take the guesswork out of choosing window products. In fact, many fabrics even share the same names and colors.

Other Ways to Match Horizontal and Vertical Products

Several product lines offer both horizontal and vertical applications that use the exact same fabric. For example, you could choose Duette® or Applause® honeycomb shades with the same fabric in the vertically oriented Vertiglide™. Or, consider Vignette® Modern Roman Shades, which offer the Traversed™ with Vertiglide system. Keep in mind that the textures and lines of the vertical window coverings in these product lines might differ from the horizontal applications. Also, light will filter in to the room differently if the fabric is turned vertically.

Why Choose Hunter Douglas?

Like any improvement for your home, window coverings can be a major investment. Hunter Douglas offers a complete catalog of blinds, shades, sheers, and shutters at a price point you can afford. They’re all available in a variety of styles, colors, features, and more, and you can select the best product based on your design preferences, functional needs, and budgetary requirements. All of our window coverings are custom-made to your windows. Let our window treatment experts help you find the perfect window treatment for you!
