Window Treatment Motorization – There’s an App For That!
I’m sure you’re all familiar with the saying “There’s an app for that.” From dining to dating, apps have changed how we do everything, and now we can even open and close our blinds by simply using an app. Hunter Douglas has taken window covering technology to a whole new level, with its Platinum App for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices (Android soon to follow). For the first time, customers will be able to design and program lighting and privacy scenes that fit their moods.
The Platinum App is compatible with Hunter Douglas’s Platinum 2.1 and PowerGlide 2.1 technology, which is included in more than a dozen of Hunter Douglas window coverings, including:
- Alustra Woven Textures
- Applause Honeycomb shades
- Duette Honeycomb shades
- Designer Roller Shades
- Designer Screen Shades
- Luminette Sheers
- Nantucket Window Shadings
- Pirouette Window Shadings
- Skyline Gliding Panels
- Vignette Modern Roman Shades
- Alustra Collection
The Platinum App is simple to connect. All that’s needed is a Platinum bridge kit that will connect easily to your WiFi router, and a repeater that goes in the rooms where you’d like to operate the shades with the app. After that’s done, download the app and you’re ready to go!
With its clearly labeled room layout and operation button, the Platinum App is very easy to use. The app also offers you different settings that can be saved into your system for certain times of day. The app is great at removing the unwanted remotes laying around the house that seem to get lost all the time, and this will also help you remove the need for multiple remotes. The best part is that it doesn’t cost much more than the remote you would need to purchase for your PowerRise blinds.
