Standard Cleaning
To keep your blinds or shades looking like new, be sure to give them a regular light dusting. If they need a deeper cleaning, gently vacuum the fabric with a clean brush attachment, or for cellular shades, use compressed air to blow out the dust and dirt.
For a Deeper Clean
If you have a stain on your fabric shade or blind, you can spot-clean most of those products using a soft cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and perhaps a very mild detergent. Be sure not to rub the fabric, which can crease or damage it. You can submerge most aluminum and faux wood blinds (but not the headrail, which could harm the lift mechanism) in lukewarm water in your bathtub or sink. Use a gentle detergent and your fingers to gently move the liquid over the slats. Re-install the blind while it’s still damp, and lower it to let it dry completely.
